DetailsA mermaids purse made of silver 925 sterling made in the Isle of Benbecula in Scotland
This is a sharks egg casing which was found on the beach and the baby had sadly died inside. I coated it with many layers of silver clay slip until I could fire the silver item. Then when it was solid silver, I created a mold and re made the item in solid sterling silver. this is the finished item, and it has a chain on so you can wear it on your neck.
The mermaids purse pendant is aprox 2 inches long or 50mm x 11mm in size, and the chain in 18 inches long. Yes I can oxidise it. The weight of the pendant is 10.88 g, which is quite heavy, but its solid silver which is why.
I can put another longer chain on to it, but it will be a slightly different chain if I do. -
